The Gourmet Experience at Viharagala
Blending memories of Europe with an authentic tradition of service unique to British colonial times, Viharagala Estate takes its cue from the long tradition of dining well at the Planter’s table.
Sit back and savour a fresh fruit juice after a morning’s work in the tea field and factory. Four o’clock: and it’s time for the ritual of English afternoon tea! Enjoy Sri Lanka’s famous high-grown tea, served on the veranda or on a manicured lawn fringed with flowers that are, appropriately, both English and exotic. Evening comes; recline at your ease in a planter’s chair on a moonlit veranda, sipping a leisurely drink before the mists roll in from the valley below. Finally, dinner: a four-course meal at once contemporary and colonial, served with fine wines and home-grown, garden-fresh vegetables, or a fabulous oriental feast. Weather permitting, outdoor dining can be arranged in the Bungalow’s beautiful garden.
And so to bed…
